Using CC NonProfit

edit SideBar

Settings

There are three sections in the Settings area, each under a different tab: Accounts, Settings, and Custom Labels and Graphics. Also, from any one of the tabs you can initiate an import of records from earlier versions of CC NonProfit.

Accounts

  1. In this section you establish the funds that you want to keep track of for donations, pledges, events, etc.
  2. Click on the Add button to create a new Fund. Enter its name in the small dialog box and select OK. If you want to delete a fund, click on the blue trash can at the right of name of the fund, and confirm your deletion.

Settings

  1. This area is reserved for settings which may be added in future versions of CC NonProfit. At the moment there is just two settings. There is a check box for indicating whether attendance records should default to showing the person as present at the event.
  2. At the bottom of this tab section there is an indication of which version of CC NonProfit is current, and which version you have now. If your version is not up-to-date you can get the most current version by clicking on the "Get Update" button.

Custom Labels and Graphics

  1. Here you can place your organization's "letterhead." This will be used as the letterhead for all "letter" publications you send out from the "Publications" section of CC NonProfit.
    1. Right-click on the "Letterhead" box and choose "Insert Picture . . ." from the popup menu. An "Insert Picture" dialog box will pop up.
    2. Navigate to the place you have stored your letterhead file. Either double-click on the filename, or click on the filename and click the "Open" button. This will insert this picture in this letterhead box.
  2. You can also change the names of some of the items in the system by changing its name in the boxes in the lower section of this tab. Notice that the left column is for recording the singular form of the label, and the right column is for recording the plural form of the label.
    1. If you want to change the name of something in the system, be sure to change both the singular and plural forms of that name. For instance, if using "Funds" and "Accounts" essentially interchangeably seems confusing, you could change the "Fund Label" to "Fund" for the singular and "Funds" for the plural form.
  3. If you make any changes on this tab the "Apply" button will become active in the lower right-hand corner of the tab section. Click on this button to apply the changes you have made throughout your copy of CC NonProfit.

Import Previous Version button

In the bottom right-hand corner of the Settings area is an "Import Previous Version" button. This can be used to import data from an earlier version of CC NonProfit into this current version.
